Rams Defeat William Paterson in Non-Conference Matchup

Farmingdale State - 3, William Paterson - 0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-22)


Wayne, N.J. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team improved to 10-6 on the season after a 3-0 non-conference victory at William Paterson on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Pioneers dropped to 12-8.

After capturing the first two sets by three and four points, respectively, Farmingdale State scored the final three points in the third to win, 25-22 and cap off the three-set sweep of the Pioneers.

FSC freshman setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) had a game-high 14 kills to go along with 13 assists, nine digs and five blocks. Senior middle blocker Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) totaled 13 kills and four blocks, while sophomore outside Annie Cosgrave (Bay Shore, N.Y.) pitched in with nine kills and 12 digs. Sophomore setter Lauren Anne Strezenec (Merrick, N.Y.) had a game-high 27 assists and junior middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) tallied a match-high six blocks.

William Paterson was led by sophomore middle Chelliah Phillips (Bergenfield, N.J.), freshman middle Alyson Toman (Secaucus, N.J.) and sophomore setter Amanda Lembo (North Haledon, N.J.) who each had seven kills.

The Rams will now travel to John Jay for a non-conference match on Friday, October 14th at 6:00 p.m.
