
Rutgers-Newark - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-21)
Newark, N.J. - Farmingdale State fell in a non-conference women's volleyball match on Thursday night at Rutgers-Newark, 3-0. The Rams dropped to 1-3 overall, while the Raiders improved to 4-2 on the year.
Farmingdale State trailed 14-10 in the first game before Rutgers ran away with a 25-16 victory. In the second match, Rutgers took a 25-13 win and then a 25-21 victory in the third match.
The Rams were led by freshman setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) who had a team-high seven kills, 12 assists and finished second in digs with nine. Sophomore setter Lauren Anne Strezenec (Merrick, N.Y.) also posted 12 assists for the Rams, while sophomore outside Annie Cosgrave (Bay Shore, N.Y.) had a team-high 11 digs.
Farmingdale State will open their conference schedule this weekend at a Skyline PlayDate on Sunday, September 18th at St. Joe's-Brooklyn. The Rams face Yeshiva at 1:00 p.m. and St. Joe's at 3:00 p.m.
