Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #1

- Signore and Parkinson earn Player of the Week honors -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #1 on Tuesday, September 6, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Tennis Update (1-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's tennis team opened the 2016 season with a 1-2 record in three non-conference games.

Senior Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Signore went 3-0 at the top of the Rams' singles lineup to open the campaign and 2-1 in the top doubles flight. She opened the season with a 6-4, 6-2 decision against Plattsburgh State and followed with an 8-6 triumph in singles action versus Ohio Northern, before defeating UMass Boston's top player later in the afternoon by scores of 6-1 and 6-3.

This week FSC will play three matches: Wednesday at William Paterson @ 5:00 p.m., Saturday vs. Hunter @ noon and Sunday vs. Yeshiva @ noon.

Men's Soccer Update (1-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

In the opening week of the year, the Rams played a pair of double overtime games with a 1-0 loss versus Staten Island and a 1-0 victory over Medgar Evers.

Sophomore forward Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) was tabbed the Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal with 1:47 left in double OT at Medgar Evers.

This week the men's soccer team will host Brooklyn on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. before traveling to Rutgers-Camden for a pair of non-conference games on the weekend.

Women's Soccer Update (0-2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State started the season with a 1-0 double overtime loss at Western Connecticut and posted a 0-1-1 mark in the Rams Classic.

FSC will play a pair of non-conference games this week: Wednesday vs. Trinity (Conn.) @ 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at #23 Ithaca @ 1:00 p.m.

Women's Volleyball Update (0-0, 0-0 Skyline)

The women's volleyball team kicks off the 2016 season on Thursday evening with a non-conference match at Staten Island beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

Farmingdale State will travel to Downingtown Country Club in Downingtown, Penn. for the season-opening Montgomery Cup hosted by Rosemont College this weekend.

Cross Country Update

The cross country teams will compete in their first meet on Saturday at the Purchase College Invitational.
