
#4 St. Joseph's-LI - 3, #5 Farmingdale State - 0 (26-24, 25-13, 25-20)
Patchogue, N.Y. - The fifth-seeded Farmingdale State women's volleyball team traveled to #4 St. Joseph's-LI for the First Round of the Skyline Conference playoffs and fell, 3-0. The Rams finished the season with a 13-14 record.
Tied 22-22 in the first set, a St. Joe's (17-15) service error followed by a Golden Eagles attacking error gave the Rams a 24-22 lead. Sophomore outside Claire Urizzo (Medford, N.Y.) recorded a kill and an FSC attacking error tied the score at 24-24. St. Joe's scored the final two points to earn a 26-24 first set victory.
The Golden Eagles captured the second set 25-13 and used a 25-20 victory in the third to earn the 3-0 First Round win.
FSC was led by junior middle blocker Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) who had a team-leading eight kills, three blocks and a pair of service aces. Freshman outside Annie Cosgrave (Bay Shore, N.Y.) recorded a team-high 10 digs, five kills and two blocks, while junior middle blocker Katie DeGraff (Amityville, N.Y.) tallied five kills.
Senior middle Heather Ferchland (Selden, N.Y.) had a game-high 11 kills for St. Joseph's.
The Golden Eagles advance to the Semifinals and now will travel to #1 Mount Saint Vincent on Thursday.
