Skyline Releases Weekly Report #8

- Howard named Player of the Week, Parrotta and Mastrangelo III tabbed Rookie's of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #8 on Monday, October 26, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Tennis Update (13-2, 7-0 Skyline)

The women's tennis team headed into the playoffs as the #1 seed and after defeating Sarah Lawrence in the quarterfinals recorded a 5-1 win over St. Joseph's-LI to capture their third straight Skyline Conference title.

Junior Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week along with the Most Outstanding Player of the championship.

Women's Soccer Update (11-5-2, 8-1 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State posted a 3-0 record last week with conference victories over Maritime, Sage and Yeshiva.

The women's soccer team swept the Skyline weekly awards as sophomore forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named Player of the Week and freshman midfielder Alyssa Parrotta (Centereach, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Howard registered 11 points (4 goals, 3 assists) in a 3-0 week for the Rams. She picked up two goals and three assists for a single game career-high seven points against Maritime and scored the only goal in the 1-0 win at Sage.

Parrotta tallied five points (2 goals, 1 assist) for Farmingdale State as she scored once versus Maritime and added a goal and an assist against Yeshiva.

The Rams will close out the regular season on Tuesday with a home contest against Mount Saint Vincent at 4:00 p.m.

Men's Soccer Update (8-8-1, 5-3-1 Skyline) - Full Report

In a pair of games last week, the Rams fell, 5-2, at Mount Saint Vincent and rebounded with a 7-1 home win over St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.

Freshman forward Richard Mastrangelo III (Dix Hills, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Mastrangelo III scored one goal in each of the Rams' two games. This is his second Rookie of the Week honor this season.

Senior midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after totaling four assists in FSC's two games. He had a game-high three assists in the home win over St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.

This week the men's soccer team will close out the regular season when they travel to Sarah Lawrence on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Women's Volleyball Update (13-11, 6-2 Skyline) - Full Report

In a busy week for Farmingdale State, the Rams played five matches and posted a 3-2 mark.

Junior middle blocker Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after averaging 2.44 kills and 0.69 blocks per set, while hitting .282 for the Rams.

The women's volleyball team will travel to St. Joseph's-LI on Saturday for their final matches of the regular season. FSC will face St. Joe's at noon and Mount Saint Mary at 2:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

The golf team earned a runner-up finish at the Skyline Conference Championship at Brynwood Country Club in Armonk, N.Y. Senior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) was named the Player of the Year after recording an eight stroke victory with scores of 71 and 75.

Cross Country Update

The men's and women's cross country teams each placed sixth at the Skyline Conference Championship this past weekend.

Junior Belony Borange (Valley Stream, N.Y.) finished a team-best 12th for the men, while sophomore Nicole Franz (Huntington, N.Y.) placed 16th for the women.
