Rams Defeat Maritime; Fall to Sage at Tri-Match

Game 2: Sage - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-13)


Albany, N.Y. - In a Skyline Conference women's volleyball tri-match hosted by Sage, the Rams opened with a 3-0 victory over Maritime and fell, 3-0, to the host Gators.

In the opening match against Maritime, Farmingdale State recorded a straight set victory with wins of 25-22, 25-12 and 25-23.

Freshman outside Annie Cosgrave (Bay Shore, N.Y.) finished the match with a game-high 10 kills and added seven digs. Senior opposite Amanda Masson (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) pitched in with six kills, two blocks and a game-high five aces, while senior libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) recorded a game-leading 10 digs.

Maritime's (14-13, 4-4) sophomore outside Shannon Brady (Bayport, N.Y.) had a team-high seven kills and six digs in the loss.

In the 3-set loss versus Sage (20-9, 7-1), Cosgrave again led the Rams in kills with eight, while also tallying 10 digs. Calderon and junior outside Christina Hickey (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) had 12 and 11 digs, respectively.

The Gators were led by Morgan Robinson's (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) game-high 10 kills. Junior setter Rachel Liebig (Hartford, Conn) totaled 33 assists and junior libero Siena Wilder (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) had 22 digs.

Farmingdale State now stands at 13-11 overall and 6-2 in the Skyline Conference. The Rams will close out the regular season with a tri-match at St. Joseph's-LI on Saturday, October 31st. FSC will face St. Joe's at noon and Mount Saint Mary at 2:00 p.m.
