Rams Split at Alfred State Tri-Match

Alfred, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team split in a pair of games at the Alfred State Tri-Match. The Rams fell, 3-0, to Alfred State and rebounded with a 3-0 victory over Cazenovia.

In the match versus host school Alfred State (17-3), the Rams (8-8) fell in straight sets (25-23, 25-13, 25-18). Farmingdale State was led by junior outside Christina Hickey (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) who recorded a game-high six kills, while freshman outside Annie Cosgrave (Bay Shore, N.Y.) tallied four kills. Senior libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) totaled a team-leading nine digs.

In the 3-set victory over Cazenovia (4-12), junior middle blocker Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with game-highs in both kills (9) and blocks (7). Freshman middle blocker Katie DeGraff (Amityville, N.Y.) compiled seven kills, while Calderon had a game-high four service aces. Setters Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Gina Giacalone (Hauppauge, N.Y.) totaled 12 and 10 assists, respectively.

The Rams next will travel to face conference opponent Yeshiva University at Baruch College on Tuesday, October 13th at 8:00 p.m.
