Rams Fall to Clark and Connecticut College in Tri-Match

Game 1: Clark University - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-16)

Game 2: Connecticut College - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-10, 25-19, 31-29)


Worcester, Mass. - At the Clark University women's volleyball tri-match, Farmingdale State fell, 3-0, to Clark and Connecticut College.

The Cougars (13-2) captured the first set 25-17 and followed with 25-12 and 25-16 wins to close out the 3-set sweep of the Rams.

Farmingdale State (6-7) was led junior middle blocker Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) who had seven kills and a game-high four blocks, while freshman outside Annie Cosgrave (Bay Shore, N.Y.) had six kills and six digs. Senior libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) totaled a game-high 12 digs for the Rams.

Junior middle blocker Hannah Fox (Dracut, Mass.) recorded a game-leading eight kills and freshman setter Rachel Webb (Celina, Texas) had 15 assists for Clark.

In the second match of the afternoon versus Connecticut College (7-5), the Camels led 2-0 and used a 31-29 victory in the third to earn the straight set victory.

Cosgrave racked up a team-high seven kills and added seven digs, while senior opposite Amanda Masson (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) tallied six kills and three blocks. Wright had five kills and three blocks and senior setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) recorded 12 assists for the Rams.

Connecticut College was led by senior outside Caroline Martin's (Palo Alto, Calif.) game-high nine kills, while sophomore setter Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) had 34 assists.

Farmingdale State next will host Lehman in a non-conference match on Tuesday, October 6th at 7:00 p.m.
