Skyline Releases Weekly Report #4

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #3 on Monday, September 28, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Volleyball Update (5-5, 3-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team had a perfect week, posting 3-0 wins over York, Old Westbury and Purchase.

Senior outside Amanda Masson (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) was named Skyline Co-Player of the Week after averaging 2.33 kills and 1.56 aces over nine sets. She registered nine kills and eight aces on September 26 in the win over Old Westbury, before adding seven kills and five aces against Purchase. Masson finished with a .429 attack percentage for the week.

This week the Rams will host Medgar Evers on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m., followed by a trip to Clark University on Saturday with games against Clark at 11:00 a.m. and Connecticut College at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

This week, the Rams hosted a tri-match with St. Joe's and Nassau CC. The teams played at Bethpage Red on Friday and at Island Hills Country Club on Sunday.

Farmingdale State finished in 1st place overall with a team score of 316 on Friday and a team score of 328 on Sunday. Freshman Jamie Jones (Rugeley, UK) led the team with a 7th place individual finish.

The Rams will now play in the Golden Eagle Invitational this Friday at Island Hills CC.

 

Men's Soccer Update (5-3, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams increased their win streak to five games with a 5-0 shutout against York (N.Y.) on Tuesday night and a 5-2 conference win over Mount Saint Mary on Saturday afternoon.

Senior midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) was named Skyline Player of the Week after netting a hat trick in the opening half on Saturday against Mount Saint Mary. This marked his second game-winning goal of the season, while he compiled 11 shots in the 2-0 week for the Rams.

Freshman forward Richard Mastrangelo (Dix Hills, N.Y.) was named Skyline Rookie of the Week after tallying a pair of goals, including the game-winner (his first of the season) as FSC notched the win over York. He compiled six shots in Farmingdale State's two victories.

This week FSC will travel to St. Joseph's (L.I.) on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. and then host Maritime on Saturday at Noon.

Women's Tennis Update (7-2, 3-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's tennis team picked up two wins this weekend, an 8-1 Skyline win over Sarah Lawrence and a 6-3 non-conference win over Oneonta.

Junior Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named Player of the Week after going a combined 4-0 at first singles and No. 1 doubles. She garnered a 6-4, 6-1 decision on Sept. 26 against SLC, before notching a 6-5, 7-5 win on Sept. 27 versus Oneonta State, which marked her fifth win in singles play on the year.

Farmingdale State hosts Suffolk CC in a scrimmage on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., before hosting Purchase on Saturday at Noon.

Women's Soccer Update (3-5-1, 1-1 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State went 1-1 in Skyline play this week, with a 7-0 shutout against Purchase before falling to Mount Saint Mary, 2-0. The Rams opened the week at Stevens with a 6-3 non-conference loss.

Junior midfielder Ashley Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Player of the Week Honor Roll, after totaling 12 points on five goals and two assists for the week.

This week the team will host St. Joseph's - Brooklyn on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

After a week off, the Rams return to action on October 3 when they travel to the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, N.Y. for the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational.
