Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #3

- Cosgrave named Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #3 on Monday, September 21, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Volleyball Update (2-5, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team posted a 1-3 mark last week with their win coming against Skyline opponent Sarah Lawrence.

Freshman outside Annie Cosgrave (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Cosgrave led FSC with 46 kills over four matches while hitting .319 for the week. She recorded a game-high 21 kills on September 17 in a 3-1 loss to New Rochelle and had 12 kills in the Rams' 3-0 win over Sarah Lawrence on September 16. Cosgrave averaged 3.54 kills over 13 sets for the week.

Junior Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll after averaging 2.15 kills, while hitting a team-best .415 over 13 sets.

This week FSC will head to York (NY) on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. before hosting their Skyline PlayDate on Saturday.

Men's Golf Update

The golf team placed second in the FSC Skyline Invitational at Bethpage Red on Friday. The Rams finished three shots behind St. Joe's and were led by freshman Ryan Reed (East Northport, N.Y.) who posted a tournament-low round of 71.

At the Penn State Harrisburg Invitational, the Rams took fifth out of 11 teams with a two day total of 615 (300-315). Senior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) tied for sixth place individually with rounds of 72 and 73.

This week Farmingdale State will host a tri-match (FSC, SJC, NCC) at Bethpage Red on Friday and play in a tri-match at Island Hills CC on Sunday.

Men's Soccer Update (3-3, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams recorded wins over Staten Island (4-2) and Purchase (3-0) in a 2-0 week.

Sophomore midfielder John Kender (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after scoring three goals on 11 shots.

This week FSC will travel to York (NY) on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. and then host Mount Saint Mary on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Women's Tennis Update (5-2, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's tennis team fell, 5-3, at Staten Island and followed with a 9-0 shutout victory over Mount Saint Mary.

Sophomore Annie Rai (Lahore, Pakistan) was named to the Honor Roll after tallying two singles wins and a doubles victory.

Farmingdale State plays two games this week: Home vs. Sarah Lawrence on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and at Oneonta on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Women's Soccer Update (2-3-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State played host to Scranton and SUNY Geneseo and fell 1-0 and 2-0, respectively.

This week the women's soccer team will travel to Stevens (Wednesday @ 4:00 p.m.), host Purchase (Friday @ 4:00 p.m.) and play at Mount Saint Mary (Sunday @ 1:00 p.m.).

Cross Country Update - Full Report

The cross country teams competed at the LIU Invitational with the men placing seventh and the women 14th.

After a week off, the Rams return to action on October 3 when they travel to the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, N.Y. for the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational.
