John Jay - 3, Farmingdale State - 2  (20-25, 25-15, 22-25, 26-24, 15-10)


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team lost in five sets, 3-2, at John Jay College (2-2) on Thursday night. The Rams (1-2) won the first set 25-20, before the Bloodhounds evened the match with a 25-15 win in the second set. The third set went to Farmingdale, 25-22 and the fourth went to John Jay 26-24 to force a fifth and deciding set. The Bloodhounds edged the Rams 15-10 for the 3-2 non-conference win.

For Farmingdale State, freshman outside Annie Cosgrave (Bay Shore, N.Y.) led with 12 kills and three blocks, while senior opposited Amanda Masson (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) finished with 11 kills and seven aces. Senior libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) tallied 22 digs and senior setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) had 34 assists and 13 digs for the night.

The Rams will host Sarah Lawrence in their home and conference opener on Wednesday, September 16th at 7:00 p.m.
