Palladino Breaks School Record at Skidmore Invitational

- Senior captain surpasses kills record -


Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - Senior outside hitter and team captain Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) broke the All-Time school record for kills this weekend, posting 30 kills over three games at the Skidmore Invitational. Her career kills total now stands at 920, surpassing Cathryn McLean's record of 914 which has been held since 2008.

The Rams (13-21) fell 3-0 to Fredonia on Friday night, 25-10, 25-17 and 25-17, before falling 3-0 against New Paltz on Saturday morning, 25-15, 25-20, 25-22. The final game went five sets, against Potsdam and Farmingdale State fell 3-2 (25-20, 25-22, 18-25, 26-28, 13-15).

Palladino started the weekend with six kills and six digs against Fredonia, while junior libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) finished with a game-high 18 digs.

Against New Paltz, Palladino added 12 kills to her career total, along with four digs. Junior setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) totaled 24 assists in that match.

In the five-set Potsdam match, Palladino broke the record with a 12 kill match, along with five digs. Pisciotta tallied 44 assists, while Calderon posted 17 digs and freshman Gina Giacalone (Hauppauge, N.Y.) finished with 14 digs.

The Rams have claimed the #5 seed for this week's upcoming Skyline Conference Playoffs and will be traveling to face #4 seed Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m. The winner will move on to the Semifinals against #1 seed Sage College on Friday, November 7th at 5:00 p.m (hosted by Purchase College).

The Skyline Championship match will be played on Saturday, November 8th at 1:00 p.m. (hosted by Purchase College).
