Rams Sweep Maritime on Senior Day

Farmingdale State - 3, Maritime - 0 (27-25, 25-17, 25-15)


Farmingdale, N.Y. - With a 3-0 win over Maritime College this morning, the Farmingdale State women's volleyball team improved to 13-18, 5-4 in conference play. The Rams won the first set 27-25, before strolling to wins of 25-17 and 25-15 for the Skyline victory.

Sophomore Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with a game-high 11 kills, while junior libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) tabbed 13 digs. Senior Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) totaled 10 digs, nine kills and two aces. Junior setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) finished the day with 29 assists.

For Maritime, freshman Shannon Brady (Bayport, N.Y.) totaled a team-high nine kills, while senior Sydney Carella (Greenville, N.Y.) finished with 10 digs.

The Rams will now closeout the regular-season with three non-conference games at Skidmore next weekend and await their seeding for the upcoming Skyline Volleyball Playoffs, beginning on Wednesday, November 5th.

Today's game marked the final regular-season home game for senior Sarah Palladino. Sarah, a 4-year member of the Rams, has appeared in 113 matches to date. She has complied 890 kills, 1,003 assists, 746 digs, 345 service aces and 86 blocks. She will leave Farmingdale State as the all-time leader in aces, currently ranks 2nd all-time in both kills and assists and 5th in digs. Her 101 service aces in 2011, still stands as the single-season school record. Sarah also not only excels on the court, but is a Business Management major holding an impressive 3.13 GPA.
