Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team (9-17, 3-3) split two games at a Skyline Conference PlayDate hosted by Purchase College on Saturday afternoon. In the first game of the day, they fell 3-0 to Mount Saint Vincent (8-10, 3-0), before bouncing back with a 3-0 victory over Purchase (2-18, 0-2).
In the close loss to the Dolphins, Farmingdale State fell by three in the first set, 25-22 and Mount Saint Vincent edged the Rams in an extra-point second set, 27-25. In the third set, Farmingdale fell 25-22.
Junior Karen Ulysse (West Hempstead, N.Y.) led the team with eight kills, three aces and 14 digs. Senior Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) finished with a game-high six service aces, along with seven assists, four kills and four digs.
Against Purchase, Palladino dished off 12 assists while serving up 4 aces. Ulysse finished with four kills and four digs.
The Rams now host Staten Island on Wednesday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. in a non-conference match.
