Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #4

- Curley and Signore named Players of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #4 on Monday, October 6, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Men's Soccer Update (4-8, 1-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams posted a 1-1 record last week with a non-conference loss at NYU and a 2-1 overtime victory over Mount Saint Vincent.

Junior forward James Curley (Clifton Park, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Curley tallied the game-winner 1:24 into the overtime session as Farmingdale State edged Mount Saint Vincent, 2-1. He recorded three shots in the match and this marked his first game-winning goal of the season. Curley now ranks second on the team with 11 points.

This week the men's soccer team will travel to Maritime on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and host Sarah Lawrence on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Women's Tennis Update (7-1, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

In their only match last week, FSC earned a 7-2 non-conference victory over Baruch.

Sophomore Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) earned Skyline Player of the Week honors. Signore was victorious at second singles and No. 2 doubles in the match versus Baruch. She earned a 7-5, 6-1 decision in singles play and an 8-4 victory in doubles action. Signore was named the Skyline Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The women's tennis team next will travel to Purchase on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. before hosting Staten Island on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Mount Saint Mary on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

At the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational, the men's and women's team each finished in 12th place out of 20 competing teams.

The men were led by junior Dan Barrett (Wantagh, N.Y.) who finished in 60th place in 32.40. Junior Carina Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) led the women with a team-best 55th place finish in 23.51.

The cross country teams next will compete in the CCNY Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday, October 12th.

Men's Golf Update

The Rams won their fifth event of the fall season after earning a 13 stroke victory at the Mount Saint Mary College Fall Invitational.

Sophomore Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.), junior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) and senior Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) all tied for first place individually with rounds of 75.

This week Farmingdale State will host Manhattanville on Tuesday at Bethpage Red and then travel to Forest Hill Field Club on Saturday and Sunday for the NYU/Manhattanville Invitational.

Women's Soccer Update (7-3-2, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State was 1-1 last week with a 2-0 loss at NYU and a 3-0 home win over Manhattanville.

Sophomore forward Alena Gannon (North Babylon, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Gannon notched a hat trick in Farmingdale State's 3-0 victory over Manhattanville.

This week the women's soccer team will host Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. and travel to #10 TCNJ on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Women's Volleyball Update (7-15, 2-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams competed at the St. Joe's Invite on Saturday and posted a 1-1 record.

Senior opposite Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the Rams with game-high's of kills (10) and service aces (12) in the 3-0 win over Old Westbury. In the loss to St. Joseph's, Palladino recorded a team-high seven kills and eight assists.

This week the women's volleyball team will travel to York (NY) on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., host New Jersey City University on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and travel to Purchase for their Skyline Invitational on Saturday.
