Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #3

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #3 on Monday, September 29, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Soccer Update (6-2-2, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams posted two wins last week against Eastern, 3-1, and a 6-0 shutout over The Sage Colleges on Saturday afternoon.

Junior forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week and freshman forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll.

Thompson tallied three goals, including a game-winner, for the week. She scored a pair of goals in the opening 8:37 of the match on Sept. 24 in the Rams' 3-1 victory over Eastern, then added a goal on Sept. 27 as FSC posted a 6-0 win versus Sage. Named the Skyline Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Howard scored a pair of goals and added an assist in two Farmingdale State victories.

This week the women's soccer team will travel for NYU on Monday at 7:00 p.m. and Purchase on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team won their Skyline Invitational at Bethpage Park Red Course on Friday. The Rams posted a team-total of 297 and earned a nine stroke victory over runner-up St. Joseph's.

Five players carded 74's and went to a sudden death playoff. Junior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) carded four straight pars to take the individual victory.

This week the Rams will travel to the Powelton Club in Newburgh, N.Y. for the Mount Saint Mary College Fall Invitational on Friday.

Men's Soccer Update (3-7, 0-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's soccer team went 1-1 this week with a 5-1 victory over York (N.Y.) before falling to Purchase in a Skyline match on Saturday, 2-0.

Junior midfielder Victor Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Honor Roll, after compiling five points, including the game-winning goal, on Sept. 22 in the Rams' 5-1 win over York.

This week the Rams will travel to face NYU on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. before hosting the College of Mount Saint Vincent in a Skyline game on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

Women's Tennis Update (6-1, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's tennis team faced only Sarah Lawrence last week and won 9-0.

Senior Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Honor Roll, after posting two wins at #1 singles and doubles in the Rams lone match of the week.

This week the Rams will travel to the USTA Center to face Baruch on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., before traveling to Purchase on Saturday for a conference match at 11:00 a.m. 

Women's Volleyball Update (6-14, 1-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams traveled to York College in Pennsylvania this past weekend but went 0-4 against some tough competition.

This week the team will head to a Skyline PlayDate at St. Joseph's (L.I.) on Saturday afternoon. The Rams will face Old Westbury at 2:00 p.m. and St. Joe's at 4:00 p.m.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

The cross country team had this past weekend off and will travel to the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational on October 4th at Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, N.Y.
