Rams Fall at York (Pa.) Spartan Invitational

York, Pa. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team traveled to York (Pa.) for the Spartan Invitational on Friday, September 26th and Saturday, September 27th. The Rams posted an 0-4 record at the tournament and now stand at 6-14 on the year.

In game one against Stevenson, the Rams fell 25-7, 25-9 and 25-14. Junior libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) posted 10 digs, while senior opposite Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) finished with four kills, seven digs and three assists. Junior setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) tallied seven assists and seven digs.

The second game on Friday was against Albright, with a 3-2 loss including a close fifth set match of 16-14. Palladino led Farmingdale State with a team-high 13 kills and five assists, while sophomore middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) had 12 kills and five blocks. Freshman libero Stephanie Etersque (Deer Park, N.Y.) added 11 kills, while Pisciotta tallied a game-high 42 assists. Calderon recorded 28 digs and seven services aces.

On Saturday, the Rams faced Virginia-Wesleyan and Cadle-Hinton recorded a game-high five kills and junior outside Karen Ulysse (West Hempstead, N.Y.) totaled five service aces and five digs. In the loss to host school York College, Farmingdale's Cadle-Hinton had six kills, four aces and three blocks. Pisciotta racked up 17 assists.

The Rams will now travel to St. Joseph's (L.I.) for a Skyline PlayDate with a match vs. Old Westbury at 2:00 p.m. and St. Joe's at 4:00 p.m.
