Rams Host Sage and Yeshiva for Skyline Playdate

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team hosted Yeshiva University and The Sage Colleges in a Skyline Conference Playdate this afternoon.

In the first match, the Rams earned a three set sweep of Yeshiva. Senior opposite Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the way for Farmingdale State with a game-high 11 kills to go along with eight assists, six digs and three service aces. Junior libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) recorded 10 digs, while junior setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) tallied a game-high 13 assists.

The Sage Colleges played Yeshiva (0-9, 0-2) for the second game of the conference playdate and the Gators rolled to a three set sweep. Sage was led by sophomore setter Rachel Liebig (Hartford, N.Y.) who collected 23 assists, seven service aces and six digs, while freshman Alyssa Nellis (Johnstown, N.Y.) recorded six kills. The Gators had 21 service aces in the victory.

In the third match of the day, Sage earned a three set victory over Farmingdale State. Palladino had a game-high nine kills, while sophomore middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) added five kills. Calderon led the Rams with a team-high 10 digs.

Liebig recorded a game-leading 33 assists and had seven digs and two aces for the Gators, while senior outside Helen Putriment (Troy, N.Y.) collected eight kills.

Farmingdale State now stands at 6-10 overall and 1-1 in the Skyline Conference, while Sage improved to 10-4, 2-0.

Farmingdale State next will travel to York (Pa.) for the Spartan Invitational on Friday, September 26th and Saturday, September 27th.
