William Paterson Remains Perfect with Four Set Victory

William Paterson - 3, Farmingdale State - 1 (25-16, 25-19, 24-26, 25-23)


Farmingdale, N.Y. - William Paterson earned a 3-1 non-conference victory over Farmingdale State this evening and improved to a perfect 9-0 on the season. The Rams fell to 5-9 on the year after tonight's loss.

Tied 24-24 in the third set, Farmingdale State took a one point lead on a block by both Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.). The Rams captured the third set, 26-24, with blocks by Cadle-Hinton and Christina Hickey (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) on the next possession.

Trailing 22-19 in the fourth set, Farmingdale State scored three straight points to even the score at 22-22. After each team scored a point, the Pioneers tallied the final two to win the set, 25-23.

Cadle Hinton led the way for the Rams with a team-high 11 kills and six blocks, while Palladino recorded seven kills, 31 assists, 10 digs and four service aces. Junior libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) had a game-high 22 digs and Hickey added nine kills for Farmingdale State.

William Paterson was led by senior outside Daniella Salemo (Ramsey, N.J.) who had 14 kills and 17 digs. Senior setter Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J.) picked up a team-high 29 assists in the victory.

The Rams next will host Sage and Yeshiva for a Skyline Play Date on Sunday, September 21st. FSC will face Yeshiva at 10:00 a.m. and Sage at 2:00 p.m. Sage and Yeshiva will square off at noon.
