2013 Women's Volleyball Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State earned the #3 seed for the Skyline Playoffs and fell, 3-0, to St. Joseph's in the semifinals held at Mount Saint Mary College. The Rams finished the 2013 season with a 14-23 overall record, including 7-2 in the Skyline Conference.

Junior outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named First Team All-Conference, while freshman middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) and sophomore setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) earned Second Team honors.

Palladino led the team in kills (330), kills per set (2.60) and service aces (99), while ranking second in assists (157) and digs (249). Palladino also ranked 10th in Division III for aces per set (0.78). Cadle-Hinton had a team-high 95 blocks and was second on the Rams in kills (233) and kills per set (1.83). Pisciotta tallied 749 assists with a 6.24 assist per set average.

Sophomore libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) led the way with 424 digs and a 3.48 dig per set average. Sophomore outside Karen Ulysse (West Hempstead, N.Y.) and freshman middle blocker Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) recorded 135 and 132 kills, respectively. Freshman defensive specialist Samantha Morra (West Babylon, N.Y.) ranked 60th in the nation with a 0.60 ace per set average.

Farmingdale State returns their entire roster for next season.
