Rams Shutout Purchase in First Round of Playoffs

The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team advanced to the Skyline Conference Semifinals with a 3-0 first round win over Purchase College tonight. The third-seeded Rams improved to 14-22 overall, while the sixth-seeded Panthers end the season at 9-13.

Farmingdale State captured all three sets by a score of 25-21. Junior outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the Rams with a game-high 12 kills, five digs and three service aces. Freshman middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) tallied nine kills, five aces and five total blocks, while sophomore setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) finished with 25 assists and a game-high six aces.

For Purchase, freshman outside Alicia McCarthy (Plano, Texas) recorded seven kills, six digs and two blocks.

The Rams will now face #2 St. Joseph's on Saturday, November 9th at 1:00 p.m. The semifinals/championship games will be played at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. as part of the Skyline's Fall Festival.
