Rams Remain Perfect in Skyline with Sweep at MSMC Play Date

Newburgh, N.Y. - With wins over both Mount Saint Mary and Mount Saint Vincent at the MSMC play date, the Rams improved to 6-0 in the Skyline Conference this season and have extended their winning streak to eight games.

In the match versus Mount Saint Mary (8-15, 3-2), Farmingdale State (10-16) won the first two sets before the Blue Knights responded with a pair of victories to force a deciding game five. Tied 13-13 in the fifth set, a kill by junior outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and a service ace by sophomore setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y) sealed the victory for the Rams.

Palladino had a game-high 23 kills and added nine digs, while Pisciotta tallied 35 assists. Freshman middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) had eight kills and freshman defensive specialist Samantha Morra (West Babylon, N.Y.) and sophomore libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) recorded 13 and 11 digs, respectively.

Leading 2-1 against Mount Saint Vincent (4-14, 3-2), Farmingdale State captured the fourth set, 26-24, to earn the victory.

Palladino led the way with 19 kills and five digs, while sophomore outside Karen Ulysse (West Hempstead, N.Y.) had five kills and a game-high five service aces. Pisciotta recorded 36 assists and Calderon had 11 digs in the win.

The Rams next will face Wilkes (4:00 p.m.) and Manhattanville (6:00 p.m.) at the St. Joseph's Invite on Friday, October 18th.
