New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team earned a pair of victories over both Old Westbury and Yeshiva at the Yeshiva University Skyline play date on Sunday afternoon. The Rams improved to 7-16 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
In the match versus Old Westbury, the Rams captured the first two sets before the Panthers responded with a 26-24 win in the third and a 25-21 victory in the fourth set. Farmingdale State earned a 15-10 win in the deciding fifth set.
Sophomore outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the Rams with 11 kills, a game-high 10 service aces and seven digs. Freshman middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) tallied a team-high 12 kills, while sophomore outside Karen Ulysse (West Hempstead, N.Y.) had 11 kills and five digs. Sophomore setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) recorded a game-high 43 assists and sophomore libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with 21 digs.
Leading 2-1 against Yeshiva, the Rams captured the fourth set 25-19 to earn the victory and remain unbeaten in Skyline Conference matches this season.
Cadle-Hinton had a game-high 10 kills, while Palladino added six kills, 10 aces and nine digs. Calderon had a team-leading 13 digs and Pisciotta tallied 32 assists in the victory.
Farmingdale State next will travel to York (NY) for a non-conference match on Thursday, October 10th at 7:00 p.m.
