Rams Fall at Baruch Tri-Match

FDU-Florham - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-14)


New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team lost to both Baruch and FDU-Florham at the Baruch tri-match this afternoon.

Trailing 1-0 in the game against Baruch (2-4), Farmingdale State evened the match with a 25-22 second set victory. The Bearcats responded with 25-12 and 25-22 wins to earn a 3-1 non-conference victory.

The Rams were led by freshman outside Nicky Young (Queens, N.Y.) who had a team-leading seven kills. Junior outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) tallied 16 assists, six digs, five kills and four service aces, while sophomore outside Karen Ulysse (West Hempstead, N.Y.) recorded a team-high nine digs.

Senior outside Rebecca Peralta (Bronx, N.Y.) had a game-high 12 kills and sophomore setter Crystle Dela Cruz (Vallejo, Cal.) added 30 assists for Baruch.

In the second match of the afternoon, FDU-Florham defeated Farmingdale State in straight sets.

Palladino had four kills and 11 assists, while sophomore libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) tallied 16 digs for the Rams.

Senior outside Helena Riede (Haworth, N.J.) led the Devils with 11 kills and seven digs.

Farmingdale State (0-7) next will travel to Montclair State for a non-conference match on Thursday, September 12th at 7:00 p.m.
