Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #2

- Signore named Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #2 on Monday, September 9, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Men's Golf Update

The golf team finished in third place out of 10 teams at the Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore College at Airway Meadows Golf Course.

Senior Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) earned a three stroke victory in the opening tournament of the season after rounds of 74 (+2) and 72 (E).

Women's Tennis Update (1-0, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's tennis team earned a 9-0 shutout victory in a non-conference match versus John Jay.

Freshman Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. She registered a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the #2 singles position and teamed with Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) for an 8-0 win in first doubles.

This week the Rams travel to Staten Island on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and then host Baurch on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Sage on Saturday noon.

Women's Soccer Update (2-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams posted a 1-1 mark on the week after falling 1-0 to Eastern Connecticut on Friday and rebounding with a 4-0 victory at Manhattanville.

Sophomore forward Ashlee Thompson was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Thompson scored a team-high two goals in the win at Manhattanville.

This week Farmingdale State will host Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. and TCNJ on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

Men's Soccer Update (1-3, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's soccer team fell in three non-conference matches (Baruch, Rowan, TCNJ) this past week. Senior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (Huntington, N.Y.) was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Kelly's Sports Ltd./Rowan Invitational.

The Rams next will host William Paterson in a non-conference match on Saturday at noon.

Cross Country Update - Full Report 

Farmingdale State competed at the St. John's/Hofstra Fall Festival this past weekend. The men were led by sophomore Daniel Barrett (Wantagh, N.Y.) who finished in a team-best 18:25.30. For the women, senior Melissa Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after her 67th place finish in a time of 17:57.69.

The Rams next will compete at the LIU Post Invitational on Sunday, September 15th.

Women's Volleyball Update (0-5, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team fell in a pair of matches at the William Paterson Invite on Saturday. The Rams fell 3-0 against both Manhattanville and William Paterson.

Freshman middle blocker Maia Calde-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after tallying 13 kills, four blocks and two service aces.

This week Farmingdale State will play six road non-conference matches: Tuesday - Baruch at 4:30 p.m., FDU-Florham at 6:30 p.m., Thursday - Montclair State at 7:00 p.m., Friday - Ramapo at 4:00 p.m., Saturday - Ramapo Roadrunner Invitational (game times - TBA).
