Rams Spilt on First Day of Jay Street Challenge

Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches on the first day of the Jay Street Challenge hosted by NYU-Poly. The Rams fell 3-0 to Montclair State and picked up a 3-0 victory over Sarah Lawrence.

Against Montclair State, the Rams were led by senior outside Holly Sahner (Dix Hills, N.Y.) who had a team-high eight kills, while freshman outside Angela Kranz (Bohemia, N.Y.) recorded six kills. Sophomore outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenurst, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with 12 assists.

Sophomore setter Angela Campo (Washington Township, N.J.) had a game-high 19 assists, while junior libero Kaitlyn Irwin (Cranford, N.J.) had 10 digs for the Red Hawks.

In the victory against Sarah Lawrence, Palladino led the way with 13 digs, 11 kills and three service aces. Freshman outside Morgan Valinoti (St. James, N.Y.) had 13 digs, while Kranz recorded 18 assists and four aces for Farmingdale State.
