Rams Fall in Day Two of Kings Point Invite

Merchant Marine - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-15)


Kings Point, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team fell 3-1 to Rutgers-Newark and 3-0 to host Merchant Marine on Saturday, September 1, day two of the Kings Point Invitational. The Rams are now 1-2 overall.

Against Rutgers-Newark, Farmingdale won the first set 25-22 but dropped the next three sets 25-13, 25-19 and 25-19. Rams sophomore Sarah Palladino finished with a game-high 20 kills, three assists and 10 digs, while Megan Pasciotta had 36 assists. Morgan Valinoti totaled 12 kills for the game.

Versus Kings Point, the Rams lost the first set by a close 25-23 and fell in the next two 25-14 and 25-15. Palladino finished with six kills, three service aces and 12 digs for Farmingdale State. Karen Ulysse also tallied 12 digs and two service aces.

The Rams will compete next in the Jay Street Challenge hosted by NYU-Poly on September 15-16.
