Panthers Take Win in Dig Pink Game

Old Westbury - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-22, 29-27, 25-11)


Old Westbury, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team fell 3-0 in Wednesday night's annual "Dig Pink" Breast Cancer Awareness match against Old Westbury (17-12, 5-4). The Rams are now 13-6, 5-3 in the conference.

Old Westbury took the first set 25-22, before going into extra points in the second set and taking a 29-27 victory, then finishing with a 25-11 win in the third set for the Skyline victory. Farmingdale State stands above the Panthers in the conference standings in fourth place, the Panthers are in fifth, both schools have one conference game remaining before the playoffs.

For the Rams, junior outside Holly Sahner (Dix Hills, N.Y.) finished with 11 kills. Freshman setter Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) had 21 assists. Senior libero Jessica Zimmermann (Seaford, N.Y.) led the team with 11 digs.

Farmingdale State will host St. Joseph's for their final regular-season home game and Senior Night on Wednesday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m.
