Patchogue, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team advanced to the Skyline Conference semifinals with a victory last night over #4 seed St. Joseph's (11-17) at the Danzi Center in Patchogue, N.Y. The fifth-seeded Rams (12-12) will now face top-seeded Mount Saint Mary on Saturday, November 6th at 10:00 a.m.

Farmingdale fell in a close first set, 25-21, then came back to tie it up 1-1 in the second set, 25-22. The Golden Eagles took the third set, 25-12, before the Rams rallied with two straight wins, 25-18 and 15-11, to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2007.

Sophomore outside Holly Sahner (Dix Hills, N.Y./Hills East) totaled 14 kills to lead the team, while junior libero Jessica Zimmermann (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) led the team with 16 digs. Freshman setter Lindsey Fisher (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) finished with 21 assists. Junior outside Dominique Cunningham (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) finished with 10 kills for the night.

As Mount Saint Mary is hosting both semifinal games and the finals on Saturday. The winner of #5 Farmingdale State / #1 Mount Saint Mary will face the winner of the 12:30 p.m. game, #3 Old Westbury vs. #2 NYU-Poly, in the Championship game at 3:00 p.m.
