Union, N.J. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team split its two matches at the Kean Invitational this past weekend. The Rams defeated John Jay 3-0 and lost 3-0 to host school Kean University. Farmingdale now stands at 6-2 overall, 3-0 in the Skyline Conference.

In the first match of the day against John Jay, the Rams were victorious in straight sets. Sophomore outside hitter Holly Sahner (Dix Hills, N.Y./Hills East) had a match-high 10 kills to go along with eight digs and four assists. Junior outside hitter Dominique Cunningham (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) had eight kills and seven digs, while senior Shannon Scudder (Seaford, N.Y./MacArthur) added seven kills for Farmingdale State. Freshman setter Lindsey Fisher (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) led the way with 27 assists for the Rams.

Against Kean, Farmingdale State fell in three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-9. Sahner had eight kills and 10 digs, while Cunningham contributed with five kills. Fisher had 15 assists and four digs in the loss.

The Rams next will host the Farmingdale State College Invitational on Saturday, October 9th starting at noon.
