Patchogue, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team improved to 5-1 overall, and 3-0 in the Skyline Conference with two wins in a tri-match held at St. Joseph's College on Saturday, September 25th. The Rams opened up the day with a 3-0 shutout over Bard, before defeating Sage in a close match 3-1.

Against Bard, Farmingdale State took three straight sets with scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-22. Junior outside Dominique Cunningham (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) finished the match with nine kills and seven digs. Freshman setter Lindsey Fisher (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) racked up 19 assists in the victory. Junior libero Jessica Zimmerman (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) posted a game-high 12 digs in the match.

In the second match of the day, the Rams took the first set with a 26-24 win and fell in set two 25-9 before taking the final two sets 25-22 and 25-20. Fisher finished with 27 assists and 13 digs, while sophomore outside Holly Sahner (Dix Hills, N.Y./Hills East) posted 11 kills and nine digs. Zimmerman had 20 digs and Cunningham tallied 10 kills and 17 digs.

The Rams will travel next to the Kean Invitational on October 2nd with a match vs. John Jay at 2:00 p.m. and a match against Kean at 4:00 p.m.
