Rams Fall to NYU-Poly on Senior Night

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team lost in straight sets tonight to NYU-Poly. The Fighting Blue Jays (20-7, 7-0 Skyline) remain in first place and unbeaten in the conference, while the Rams fall to 6-14 overall and now hold a 2-3 record in the Skyline Conference.
Middle hitter Shannon Scudder (Seaford, N.Y./MacArthur) and libero Tiffara Steward (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka) were each honored at this evenings game for senior night.
Farmingdale was led by sophomore middle hitter Dominique
Cunningham (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) who had five kills and eight
digs. Sophomore setter Shelby Martin (New Paltz, N.Y./New Paltz)
had 13 assists and sophomore outside hitter Alyssa Siegel (Carle
Place, N.Y./Carle Place) had a team-high 10 digs.
Freshman Corey Loupee (Corwn Point, Ind./Boone Grove) of NYU-Poly led the team with 11 kills on 13 attacks, without a single error. Junior Meredith Shipman (Sugarland, Tex./Elkins) had eight kills and seven digs, while Sophomore Victoria Kalvert (Missouri City, Tex./Elkins) had seven kills, five digs and three blocks for the Fighting Blue Jays.
The Rams travel to Old Westbury for a Skyline Conference matchup on Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00pm.
