2008 Women’s Volleyball Season Recap
Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State
women’s volleyball team finished the season with an 8-16
overall record, finishing in a tie for 6th place in the Skyline
Conference. The Rams missed the playoffs by losing a tiebreaker to
Old Westbury College.
Senior Libero Theresa Rokee (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named Second
Team All-Skyline after leading the team in digs this season with
274 and recording a 3.38 dig per set average. Rokee, in her
three-year career, now holds the school record for digs with a
total of 853.
Freshman middle Dominique Cunningham (Amityville, N.Y.) led the
team in kills with 119 and a 1.43 kill per set average, while
freshman outside Alyssa Siegel (Carle Place, N.Y.) tallied 101
kills. Shelby Martin (New Paltz, N.Y.), the Rams freshman setter,
recorded 309 assists to go along with her team high 29 service
aces.
Farmingdale will be returning eleven of thirteen players for the
2009 season, ten of which are freshmen.
