Jang Wins Hammer Throw at NJAC Championships

Glassboro, N.J. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track teams finished in fifth and sixth place, respectively at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships held at Rowan University.

Senior Mike Jang (Lynbrook, N.Y.) led the men as he won the hammer throw with a toss of 49.66m. Jang's winning toss in the hammer throw earned him First Team All Conference honors. He also placed fifth in the shot put with a distance of 13.12m and took eighth place in the discus (38.54m). Senior Steven Renteria (West Babylon, N.Y.) earned fourth place in the high jump with a leap of 1.88m and finished 12th in the 100m with a time of 11.69. Junior Daquan Grant (Copiague, N.Y.) took fourth place in the triple jump (12.94m) and seventh place in the long jump (6.08m).

In the 200m dash, freshman Jevon Clarke (East Meadow, N.Y.) finished in 14th place with a time of 23.39, while senior Danny Hart (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished 16th in 23.51. 

The women were led by senior Faustine Chukwuezi (Central Islip, N.Y.) who earned a third place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 10.97m and took sixth in the long jump with a distance of 5.05m. Senior Victoria Mandat (West Babylon, N.Y.) finished in seventh place in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.92.
