Mike graduated from Lynbrook High School in 2009. He was a Division, Conference and County Champion for indoor/outdoor track his junior and senior seasons. Mike received the 2009 Paul E. Krause Memorial Award and was a New York State Championship competitor. He was named team Most Valuable Player his junior and senior years and holds the Lynbrook High School record for indoor Shot Put.
