David Humphrey (South Shore) led the men's team to a program best 33rd place (9 points) out of 73 teams at the ECAC Track Championships. The meet held at Williams College on May 14th-15th, featured some of the finest track athletes in the country.May 12, 2004
The 2004 Outdoor Track team had a successful season after qualifying six runners for the upcoming ECAC Division III Championships this weekend at Williams College. The 4x400 meter and 4x100 meter Relay team of Elloy Cassell, Joseph Boaheng, David Humphrey and Leon Poulard will be competing after qualifying with 3rd place finishes at the St. Johns Last Chance Meet and CTC Championships. Boaheng and Humphrey will also be competing in the 100 meter dash and Akil Williams in the high jump. Diana Baxter will represent the women?s team by competing in the 1500 meter.May 8, 2004
The 4x400m relay team of Elloy Cassell, Joseph Boaheng, David Humphrey and Leon Poulard ran 3:24.25 placing 3rd and qualifying for the ECAC Championships. Senior Diana Baxter lowered her personal best in the 1500m for the 3rd time this season running 4:57.41.Apr 28, 2004
Diana Baxter (Commack) won the 1500m with a personal best time of 4:59.82. She significantly lowered her previous time of 5:05 and still stands at 2nd place on the all-time 1500m list. The school record is 4:54.4 held by Regina Ford-Cahill from 1983.Apr 20, 2004
Team Captain David Humphrey (South Shore) led the men's track team to a program best 7th place finish (44 points) in the CTC Championships at DeSales University on April 17th and 18th. Running into a strong headwind, Humphrey placed 3rd in the 100m (11.23), 4th in the 200m (22.69), led off the 3rd place 4x100m relay and in his first ever 400m he ran 50.56 in the 6th place 4x400m relay. Freshman Thabiti Lee (Amityville) won the triple jump (13.57m ? 44'6 �"), placed second in the long jump (6.31m ? 20' 8 �") and ran on the 4x100m relay.Apr 13, 2004
Freshman Akil Williams (August Martin) placed 3rd in the high jump in 6?2 �? (1.90m). This qualifies him for the ECAC Championships. He also set personal bests in the long jump, 19? 7�?; the javelin, 109?4? and 54.0 in the 4x400m relay.Apr 6, 2004
Freshman Thabiti Lee (Amityville) won the triple jump with a jump of 45?3?. This qualified him for the ECAC Championships May 14th-15th at Williams College. Lee also placed 5th in the long jump (20?7?) and ran on the 3rd place 4x400m relay with Joseph Boaheng (Dewitt Clinton), Elloy Cassell (Mt. St. Michael) and Akil Williams (August Martin) in a time of 3:31.29. Boaheng placed 3rd in the 100m dash in 11.16 (11.0 trials). This was also an ECAC Qualifier. Senior Diana Baxter (Commack) placed 4th in the 1500m run (5:05.46) and 6th in the 800m (2:30.44).
