AMHERST, MA | Farmingdale State College fell in the First Round of the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship, 5-0, to Endicott on Friday afternoon at Amherst College. The Gulls (14-7) have advanced and will play #9 Babson in the Second Round, while the Rams end their season with record of 12-6.

Endicott swept through doubles play as senior Olivia Berler and junior Kaitlin Fitzgibbons opened the match with an 8-1 win at the No. 3 flight over FSC freshmen Mikayla DeMaria (West Babylon, N.Y.) and Rebecca Ness (Clintondale, N.Y.).

Farmingdale State's No. 1 tandem of senior Anastasia Hoffman (Massapequa, N.Y.) and freshman Amanda Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) dropped an 8-3 decision to sophomores Lejla Guster and Ripley Uyeda, before sophomore Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) and freshman MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) were defeated in the second position, 8-4, by senior Ashely Keaveney and sophomore Olivia Martinelli.

The Gulls picked up their fourth point on a retirement (injury) in second singles, before Martinelli closed the team match with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jones in the third slot.

The other four matches were left unfinished, including Hoffman's top-flight match against Guster, which she was narrowly defeated 6-4 through one set.
