FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Farmingdale State sophomore Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) earned a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 win at #2 singles to clinch a 5-4 Skyline Conference victory over St. Joseph's-Long Island this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y.

The Rams wrapped up fall regular-season play with a perfect 6-0 record in the Skyline Conference. The Golden Eagles suffered their first loss and end with a 5-1 regular season Skyline record.

Prior to today's match, Farmingdale State (10-4) celebrated Senior Day for three student-athletes: Anastasia Hoffman (Massapequa, N.Y.); Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.); and Susana Pariona (Farmingdale, N.Y.).

FSC captured two points in doubles competition as Hoffman and freshman Amanda Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) picked up an 8-2 win in the #1 doubles match. Collings and freshman MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) won at second doubles by the same score, 8-2.

Leading 2-1 heading into singles play, Hoffman earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at top-flight singles before Gisler recorded a 6-3, 6-0 win at #4 singles.

Farmingdale State held a 4-3 advantage after SJLI (7-3) picked up victories in both the third and sixth singles matches.

In the second slot, Collings trailed Golden Eagles Lorraine Podlesny, 5-2, in the third set, before storming back to capture the 7-5 win and clinch the match for FSC. 

St. Joe's earned their final point in a super-tiebreak victory at #5 singles, 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 10-7.

Next up for head coach Adam Waterhouse's Rams is the four-team 2022 Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Championship, which will consist of semifinals play on Oct. 26 (Wed.), and the championship final Oct. 29 (Sat.). Seeding and pairings will be announced after regular-season competition is completed Monday night.
