Rams Cruise Past MSMC to Improve to 5-0 in Skyline Play

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 shutout over Mount Saint Mary College this afternoon to improve to a perfect 5-0 in Skyline Conference play.

FSC (9-4) swept through doubles play as the second pairing of sophomore Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) and freshman MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) earned an 8-0 win, while the duo of senior Anastasia Hoffman (Massapequa, N.Y.) and freshman Amanda Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) took #1 doubles by an 8-2 score.

Seniors Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) and Susana Pariona (Farmingdale, N.Y.) clinched the doubles sweep with a tie-breaking 8-7 (7-1) victory in the third position.

Rams' freshman Mikayla DeMaria (West Babylon, N.Y.) quickly picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over MSMC's (3-7, 1-3 Skyline) Victoria Ward at #6 singles before Gisler secured the match victory with a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the fourth slot.

Farmingdale State rolled to the shutout as Hoffman defeated Julia Flynn at top-flight singles 6-1, 6-1, Collings collected a 6-3, 6-4 win in the second position, Jones took a 6-3, 6-1 decision at third singles, and freshman Heather McGullam (Hauppauge, N.Y.) prevailed 6-2, 6-2 in the fifth match.

FSC will close out their regular season schedule with a home match versus St. Joseph's-Long Island on Saturday, October 22nd at noon on Senior Day.
