Rams Finish Season Undefeated in Skyline; Enter Playoffs as #1 Seed

Patchogue, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team closed their regular season schedule with a 7-2 win on Thursday evening at St. Joseph's-Long Island. The Rams earned their ninth straight victory and finished the regular season 10-3 overall and a perfect 6-0 in conference play.

FSC won all three doubles matches to jump out to a 3-0 advantage heading into singles. Freshmen Anastasia Hoffman (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) picked up an 8-1 victory at first doubles before sophomores Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and Shari Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) won at #2 doubles, 8-2. Freshmen Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) and Susana Pariona (Farmingdale, N.Y.) took the third position by a score of 8-6.

The Rams cruised through the first through third singles spots as Hoffman (6-0, 6-0), Lettieri (6-2, 6-0) and Collings (6-1, 6-1) each earned victories.

Farmingdale State's final point came at fifth singles, where Murrell carded a 6-0, 6-2 win as FSC went on for the 7-2 Skyline Conference victory.

The women's tennis team has earned the top seed for the upcoming Skyline Conference Championship and will host the Semifinals on Wednesday, October 20th on Senior Day.
