FSC Extends Win Streak to Eight with Win Over Lehman

Farmingdale State - 8, Lehman - 1


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team earned an 8-1 victory over non-conference opponent Lehman College this afternoon. The Rams have won eight straight matches and are now 9-3 overall, while the Lightning dropped to 1-6.

At first doubles, FSC freshmen Anastasia Hoffman (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) carded an 8-1 victory, while sophomores Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and Shari Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) picked up an 8-0 win in the second position. In the third slot, freshman Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) and sophomore Katherine Del Valle (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) notched an 8-0 victory to round out the doubles sweep for the Rams.

In singles, Collings (6-0, 6-0), Jackson (6-0, 6-1), Murrell (6-3, 6-1), Del Valle (6-0, 6-0) and freshman Natasha Henderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-1) each earned wins in the second through sixth positions, respectively.

Lehman's only point of the match came at first singles.

Farmingdale State next will close out their regular season schedule with a conference match at St. Joseph's-Long Island on Thursday, October 14th at 5:30 p.m.
