Rams Notch 8-1 Win Over Yeshiva

Farmingdale State - 8, Yeshiva - 1


Flushing, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team traveled to the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. for a Skyline Conference match against Yeshiva on Wednesday evening and earned an 8-1 win.

FSC picked up their fifth straight victory and improved to 6-3 overall and a perfect 4-0 in conference matches. The Rams sit atop the Skyline, while Purchase is currently in second place with a 3-1 conference record.

Farmingdale State earned all three points as they swept the doubles competition. In the #1 position, freshmen Anastasia Hoffman (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) tallied an 8-1 victory, while sophomores Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and Shari Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) notched an 8-2 win in the second slot. At third doubles, freshmen Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) and Susana Pariona (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned an 8-0 shutout victory.

In singles play, Hoffman (6-0, 6-0), Collings (6-0, 6-1), Jackson (6-1, 6-1), Murrell (6-0, 6-0) and sophomore Katherine Del Valle (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) (6-2, 6-1) all carded wins for the Rams.

Farmingdale State will host Brooklyn College in a non-conference match later today at 4:30 p.m.
