Rams Defeat Sarah Lawrence; Win Fourth Straight Match

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team played host Skyline Conference opponent Sarah Lawrence on Friday afternoon and earned an 8-1 victory. The Rams have won four straight matches and improved to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

FSC recorded all three points in doubles competition. In the first position, the freshmen pairing of Anastasia Hoffman (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) tallied an 8-6 victory. At second doubles, sophomores Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and Shari Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) notched an 8-7 win, while freshmen Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) and Susana Pariona (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned an 8-2 victory in the third slot.

In singles play, Hoffman (6-0, 6-1), Lettieri (6-3, retired), Collings (6-4, 6-4), Murrell (6-2, 5-7, 10-6) and sophomore Katherine Del Valle (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-2) all carded win for the Rams.

FSC next will travel to play Yeshiva in a Skyline match on Monday, October 4th at 4:00 p.m.
