Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team hosted Purchase College for their first Skyline Conference game of the season this afternoon and recorded a 7-2 win.
The Rams (3-3, 1-0) earned all three points after sweeping the doubles competition. In the first position, the freshmen pairing of Anastasia Hoffman (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) recorded an 8-3 victory, while sophomore's Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and Shari Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) notched an 8-1 win in the second slot. At third doubles, freshmen Susana Pariona (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) claimed an 8-5 win for the Rams.
In singles, Hoffman (6-3, 6-3), Lettieri (6-4, 6-1), Collings (6-0, 6-0) and Jackson (7-5, 7-6 (7-4)) earned victories in the first through fourth positions, respectively.
Purchase (2-1, 0-1) recorded their two points in fifth and sixth singles.
Farmingdale State next will host Manhattanville in a Skyline Conference match on Wednesday, September 29th at 4:30 p.m.
