#3 Farmingdale State - 5, #2 Manhattanville - 3
Purchase, N.Y. - The third-seeded Farmingdale State women's tennis team traveled to #2 Manhattanville for the Skyline Conference Semifinals this afternoon and earned a 5-3 victory. The Rams advance to the Skyline Finals on Saturday.
FSC (5-2) picked up 2-of-3 points in doubles competition. At first singles, freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) recorded an 8-6 victory over Manhattanville's (4-3) Kelsey Ulzheimer (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and Maya Dziurda (Warsaw, Poland). The Rams won the #3 doubles match by default.
In singles, Lettieri carded a 6-4, 6-0 win in the #2 slot and the Rams earned victories at the #5 and #6 positions by default.
Farmingdale State will square off against the winner of #1 St. Joseph's-LI and #4 Mount Saint Mary in the Skyline Finals on Saturday at the site of the highest remaining seed. The match time is TBA.
The winner of the championship earns the conference's automatic bid into the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament.
