FSC Drops Road Match at Manhattanville

Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team traveled to Manhattanville College for the final match of the regular season and fell, 6-3.

In doubles competition, Valiants' (4-1) junior Renay Charley (Redondo Beach, Calif.) and freshman Bea Pretnar (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) defeated FSC freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore Shari Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.), 8-3, in the first slot. Manhattanville senior Maia Dziurda (Warsaw, Poland) and junior Kelsey Ulzheimer (Franklin Square, N.Y.) earned an 8-3 victory at second doubles before the Rams captured third doubles via forfeit.

At top flight singles, Charley edged out Hoffman, 6-4, 6-7 (8-6), 6-1, before Pretnar picked up a 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 win over sophomore Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) at second singles. The two teams split the third through sixth singles matches as the Valiants went on for the 6-3 victory.

The Rams finish the regular season with a 4-2 record and have earned the #3 seed for the upcoming Skyline Conference Championship. The Skyline Semifinals will be held on Wednesday, May 5th.
