Farmingdale State Earns Home Victory Over Yeshiva

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team hosted conference opponent Yeshiva University this afternoon and earned an 8-1 victory. With the win, the Rams have improved to 4-1 overall and sit in second place in the Skyline Conference.

At first doubles, FSC's Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and Shari Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) claimed an 8-3 win over Maccabees' (0-3) Eli Gofman (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Eden Hariri (Baltimore, Md.). Farmingdale State picked up victories at second and third doubles as the pairings of Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and Stephanie Negrillo (West Islip, N.Y.) and Susana Pariona (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Katherine Del Valle (Copiague, N.Y.) both earned 8-1 wins.

In singles competition, Hoffman earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory at #1 singles, while Lettieri took a 6-4, 6-4 decision in the second slot. Yeshiva's sole point was earned at third singles as Gofman edged out Negrillo, 6-4, 7-5. Jackson notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at fourth singles before freshman Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) took a 6-1, 6-1 decision in the fifth spot. Del Valle completed the 8-1 victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win at #6 singles.

The Rams next will travel to play Manhattanville in their regular season finale on Sunday, May 2nd at 1:00 p.m.
