Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team traveled to Purchase College this afternoon for a Skyline Conference match and earned a 9-0 victory. FSC now stands at 2-1 on the year, while the Panthers are 0-1.
In first doubles, FSC's Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and Shari Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) notched an 8-5 win over PC's Raquelle Decicco (Kingston, N.Y.) and Nikita Kordzielweska (Poland, N.Y.). At second doubles, the pairing of Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and Stephanie Negrillo (West Islip, N.Y.) claimed an 8-1 victory over Nicole Sliwinski (Newington, Conn.) and Kali Secrest (Hartsdale, N.Y.). The Rams won the third doubles match via forfeit.
At #1 singles, Hoffman earned a 6-3, 8-7 (7-4) victory, while Lettieri won 6-0, 6-7 (9-11), 1-0 (11-9) in the second slot. Rounding out the sweep, Negrillo (6-1, 6-1), Jackson (6-0, 6-3), Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) and Katherine Del Valle (Copiague, N.Y.) (forfeit) had victories in the third through sixth positions, respectively.
FSC next will host Mount Saint Mary in a Skyline match on Saturday, April 24th at noon.
