Farmingdale State - 8, Sarah Lawrence - 1
Bronxville, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team traveled to Sarah Lawrence this afternoon for a Skyline Conference match and earned an 8-1 victory. The Rams improved to 1-1 on the season, while the Gryphons dropped to 1-2.
FSC recorded 2-of-3 points in doubles competition. In the first position, the pairing of freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore Shari Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) notched an 8-1 win. At second doubles, sophomore Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Stephanie Negrillo (West Islip, N.Y.) also tallied an 8-1 victory for Farmingdale State. Freshmen Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) and Susana Pariona (Massapequa, N.Y.) fell 8-7 (7-3) at third doubles.
The Rams swept singles as Hoffman (6-1, 6-1), Lettieri (6-3, 6-1), Negrillo (1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3)), Jackson (6-1, 7-5), Murrell (6-1, 6-0) and Pariona (6-2, 6-0) all recorded wins in the first through sixth positions, respectively.
The FSC women's tennis team next will play host to Yeshiva in a conference match on Wednesday, April 21st at 4:30 p.m.
