Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team opened their spring season with a 6-3 home loss to Skyline Conference opponent St. Joseph's-Long Island this afternoon.
The Rams (0-1, 0-1 Skyline) earned one point in doubles play as the pairing of freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore Shari Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) recorded an 8-4 win over juniors Jessica Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) and Joan Dabalsky (St. James, N.Y.) in the #1 position.
In singles, Farmingdale State claimed points in the first and second slots. At #1 singles, sophomore Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) posted a 6-0, 6-0 win, while Hoffman also recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the second position.
FSC will next travel to Sarah Lawrence for a Skyline match on Sunday, April 18th.
